Tunnel Hill, Ga

10/9/2012

During the Civil War, railroad lines were key to moving men and supplies. Leading up to the battle of Atlanta, Tunnel Hill was a key target for the Union Army. The battle was fierce and the casualties piled up.
Since the war, the area of Tunnel Hill has been reported to be haunted. There have been sightings of both Union and Confederate soldiers. There are also interesting reports of a very odd type of haunting. During the evening, campfires begin to appear on the hillside. These fires will disappear if you begin to move towards them. People have also reported seeing the legs of soldiers moving around the campfire's edge.
The tunnel is located at 215 Clisby Austin Road, Tunnel Hill, Ga.
