Southern Ghosts Gettysburg
This picture was taken in 08 at the Triangle Field. The soldiers directly above this guest's head were not there when the picture was taken. Only the walking guest and the guests to her right were visible with the naked eye. No explanation for the soldiers was ever found.
In July of 1863, General Robert E. Lee’s Army Of Northern Virginia of 75,000 men and the 97,000 man Union Army Of The Potomac under General George G. Meade met, by chance, in a small Pennsylvanian town; when a Confederate brigade sent forward for supplies it observed a forward column of Meade’s cavalry. The place was Gettysburg, and it has come to be known as the definitive battle of the Civil War.
On July 1, 2, and 3, 1863, more men actually fought and more men died on the Gettysburg battlefield than in any other battle before or since on North American soil. This small town of only 2,400 was left with a total (from both sides) of more than 51,000 casualties. Over 172,000 men and 634 cannon had been positioned in an area encompassing 25 square miles. Additionally, an estimated 569 tons of ammunition was expended. When the battle had ended, 5,000 dead horses and the other wreckage of war presented a scene of terrible devastation.
From a paranormal standpoint, Gettysburg is considered one of the most active locations on the planet. As far as both residual and genuine hauntings are concerned, the ghastly battle fought more than 140 years ago has left an indelible imprint on the landscape and in the homes and businesses of those who still reside there. Paranormal phenomena abound at Gettysburg , and we have fulfilled a life-long dream of ours by organizing fun-filled, fascinating weekends during which our guests experience Gettysburg as paranormal investigators.
During previous visits, our guests have encountered apparitions and heard the distant sound of ghostly cannon fire. In March of 2010, we all heard the sound of orders being called out from an empty field. We have also collected dozens of stories from our guests and been provided with some amazing EVP (electronic voice phenomena) as well as pictures of ghostly soldiers. Every trip continues to provide us with more evidence that there is truly something strange happening on this sacred battlefield.
Southern Ghosts invites you to join us as we investigate on the most haunted cities in the world. Working with Mark and Carol Nesbitt of Ghosts of Gettysburg, we continue to add exciting locations to investigate. We also work with helping you exercise your own psychic abilities. As well as helping you understand what it truly means to investigate a haunted property. Hopefully when you finish one of our weekends, you will have a much better understanding of our world.
When you investigate Gettysburg with Southern Ghosts, we work to make sure you have the best chance possible to experience the paranormal. We also want to leave you with an appreciation of the history of this amazing city.
